Ihcilon (pronounced 'ise-eh-lun') is a single-performer improvisational electronic music project based in Northwestern Illinois.
The sound and style of Ihcilon takes its influence from machinery sounds, classical music, early electronic music composers. and the nature of sound itself and how it can react to any particular environment. The sound was famously described once as "Spock lost on a barren and windy desert planet."
Ihcilon has been active since 2014 and has released music primarily on Bandcamp through self-publishing, and has also appeared on releases from Thisco Records, Verses Records, Lightning Safe Homes, Grimalkin Records, and the Memphis Concrète Presents and MERZfunder bandcamp imprints.
Ihcilon is also curator of the If Then Else show on Camp Radio
